Citizenship Classes

Are you thinking of becoming a citizen of the United States?

The first step is prepare for the citizenship test. The test consists of an oral interview and a written test on U.S. history and state/federal government.

If you speak, read and write basic English, you are ready to fill out your citizenship application at one of the organizations listed below or at one of the upcoming workshops listed on the home page calendar. If you do not speak, read and write basic English the organizations below also provide English as a Second Language classes throughout the year.

All citizenship classes are free and also provide mock interviews to prepare individuals for their citizenship interview with an officer of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Some organizations also provide individual tutoring (please ask the organization when calling or visiting if this service is available). In addition, some organizations provide classes at other locations beyond their location (i.e. Family Focus may also provide classes in neighboring suburbs, cities) and as a result the class schedule may vary. Most of the classes are ongoing so you do not have to wait for one to open.
