The goal of the Immigrant Family Resource Program (IFRP) is to ensure that immigrant families and other limited English-speaking persons in Illinois are able to thrive by reducing the barriers that low-income immigrants and their children face when seeking public benefits and services

Immigrant Integration

Immigrant integration is a dynamic, two-way process in which newcomers and the receiving society work together to build secure, vibrant, and cohesive communities. As an intentional effort, integration engages and transforms all community members, reaping shared benefits and creating a new whole that is greater than the sum of its parts (Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees).

Neighbor to Neighbor

The “Neighbor to Neighbor” English Volunteer Project! , a volunteer literacy program designed to help our state’s newcomers learn English by speaking with their neighbors!

New Americans Democracy Project

NADP is a nonpartisan voter registration, education, and mobilization campaign by and for the immigrant community. It has become a national model for immigrant empowerment through civic participation that seeks to uphold the shared values of immigrants of varied ethnicities and languages.

The New Americans Initiative, a non-profit partnership between the State of Illinois and the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights to help you through the process of becoming a U.S. citizen, with FREE assistance.
