Only a few days left before my first community unity event as an AmeriCorps Fellow! In typical “me” fashion, I am completely overwhelmed and putting entirely too much pressure on myself to pull off an amazing, incredible, wonderful, spectacular, over the top event. I’m in the storm now, but don’t worry, beauty always seems to come from chaos, so here we go!

A Shared Volunteer Experience Gives a Deeper Meaning to Uniting America

The highlight of this week was my participation in an N-400, Application for Naturalization, Citizenship Training! I arrived at Arab American Family Services Tuesday evening to see two of my volunteers present for the event, Elmo Gonzalez and Stan Wiaduck. The fact that I was in the same situation as my volunteers was intensely exciting for me.
