Empire State Joins Illinois in Saying No to Immigration Dragnets

Today New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that he is temporarily suspending New York State’s participation in the federal “Secure Communities” program.  On May 4, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn notified US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) that Illinois is withdrawing from the program.
