Building Young Leaders

October 08, 2012

Providing youth with a safe space to express themselves, acquire new skills, and build relationships with each other is a necessary component in raising confident young leaders. As an organization committed to the development of young Muslims, CIOGC has recently increased its outreach that targets youth within the community by starting a Youth Council.

A Documentary Worth Watching

October 08, 2012

I love documentaries. They pull me into what often seems like another world, full of interesting people, places, and ideas I have often never considered. When I remember that the world depicted is the same one I inhabit, I am always blown away.  I watch, overcome with amazement I observe what I perceive as to be unfathomable take on flesh in living color.

Ideally what I would like to happen is bring a few LGBTQ organizations who work around HIV, whether testing, education, training, etc, and have tables at the student lobby on October 15, 2013.

The End is Near But...

October 03, 2012

As this year is approaching to an end, and as I reflect on how I developed as a human being as a result of this job, I feel deeply touched and privileged.  I also feel sad for my time is about to end. Who I was just a few months ago, and who I am now, is just not the same.
