The Legacy of Cesar Chavez and Marcos Munoz

Leading up to March 31st, people all over the country will be celebrating Cesar Chavez day. To celebrate, this month’s newsletter is dedicated to his legacy. I had the honor of interviewing Marcos Munoz who is a longtime friend of Cesar’s and a coworker of his at a vineyard in Delano, CA, a place where the United Farm Workers (UFW) union began.

The Other Side Of Immgration a Community Success by Rachel Cope

The snow did not deter the crowd yesterday from making it to Lake Forest College to view the award winning documentary, The Other Side of Immigration followed by a discussion with Director, Roy Germano, and immigration attorney, Jackie Herrera-Girón. There were over 120 people in the audience, and it was such a diverse crowd.

Why Empowering Leaders is Important

This week, I'm overwhelmingly grateful for the support community leaders offer organizers--specifically, the help I had recently in putting on a successful event at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Without the partnership of priests and community leaders, this event could not have happened. Without them, information would not have been provided.

Citizenship Workshop at Malcolm X Serves 200 Applicants

On February 9th, as part of  ICIRR’s Immigration Integration Summit, NAI held a citizenship workshop that served 200 applicants, with the help of 142 volunteers.
