Uniting America Celebrates!

Uniting America, yet again gave us a reason to celebrate! On June 14th Uniting America organized an event at Daley Plaza to celebrate a holiday many of us may not think much about...but yet its significance of bringing together people around a common cause, especially flags is one important reason to claim this holiday’s significance. We had set up tents where we distributed information about the program, recruited volunteers, and engaged youth in arts & crafts. Some folks participated in the interactive activity "Where have you volunteered?" Since the program focuses on volunteerism this activity allowed folks to place stickers in the geographical area where they had volunteered. In some instances, those same individuals had signed up to volunteer with Uniting America. A real attention grabber were the performances of the Irish-American dance group, drama readings, and spoken word. We all had persevered through the heat and gave our best to share our work with others! Thanks to the many helping hand of our volunteers. It wouldn’t be possible without them!
