The end of July brought the end to our One Voice, One Community Mural Project. The youth and children of the Quinn Community Center put together an extraordinary show for the community to showcase all of their amazing work on the mural and the other projects they worked on during the summer. The show included the skits and dances from all the children in the program, speeches from State Representative Karen Yarbrough and Maywood Mayor Henderson Yarbrough, and even the Proviso East High School Marching Band! The Quinn Community Center basement was wonderfully decorated with the six panels of the One Voice, One Community Mural, self-portraits done by the youth and other art created by the summer participants. The atmosphere was fun, high energy and celebratory.
