Preparing for February 4th

After doing the necessary work on what it takes to form a successful partnership with various institutions, this week I started working on finalizing informational packets to be distributed to various community organizations, businesses, congregations and schools. As Uniting America is a new program, the platform which the February 4th Illinois Immigrant Integration Summit affords is the perfect opportunity to begin approaching and informing people about the different ways that they can actively become involved and help shape the campaign.

In addition to forming packets, I am also currently working on a Uniting America pledge that individuals and organizations can sign, so that we can begin to generate a public list of all those who support this initiative and its message. Hopefully the list will encourage others to get involved and also show the need that a campaign like this has in today’s world. The goal isn’t about securing numbers but reaching out and connecting with as many different people as possible to begin changing peoples’ hearts and minds.
