The Coalition is always looking for volunteers! Here are just a few of the ways you can help:
1) Voter Registration volunteer – Come out and help us register new citizens to vote! This year ICIRR will register 20,000 immigrants and new citizens to vote. We will then turn out 60,000 immigrant voters to the polls in November.
You can make a huge difference by helping to register the community to vote and to do get-out-the-vote work with our New Americans Democracy Project.
For more information, please email Juan Jose Gonzalez, the New Americans Democracy Project Associate, or call 312-332-7360 , ext 236
2) Citizenship workshop volunteer – At New Americans Initiative workshops, legal permanent residents receive free assistance to prepare their naturalization application, legal services (if needed) and information on free citizenship classes. We need volunteers to help work these workshops (usually on Saturdays for 2-3 hours).
For more information, please contact Monica Starczuk, NAI Field Coordinator, at 312-332-7360 ext. 212.
3) New Media, Video, and/or Technology Volunteer – As a new media or technology volunteer you play the critical role of helping to integrate our organizing and advocacy efforts- while drawing on the power of the internet and Web 2.0.
Depending on your experience, you could help us manage the technology that supports these efforts, work on the ICIRR website and action alerts, or help us make short YouTube videos on issues that truly matter to immigrants.
For more information, please Fill out the application. Email Nathan Ryan, E-Advocacy, Web, Tech, and Database Manager, for more information.
