Illinois communities celebrated the homecoming of three men released from immigration detention today as Pulaski County Jail ends its contract with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Advocates continue to demand the release of dozens of other people the agency says it is transferring to other detention centers.
Illinois is one step closer to completely separating local law enforcement from ICE statewide; SB 667 heads to Governor’s desk.
