Jocelyn Aranda-Ortiz (she/her/ella) is from the Southwest Side, La Villita. A neighborhood that molded her aspirations to continue helping communities in need, from legal to public benefits. In 2022, Aranda-Ortiz joined the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights as the Family Support Network Coordinator. In this role, Aranda-Ortiz is providing presentations about current immigration issues and policies, conducting trainings, and navigating resources for recent arrivals.

With over 8 years of giving back to the community, Aranda-Ortiz has dedicated her time to continuously serving the immigrant community. She served as a fellow for ICIRR's Democracy Project in 2018 and 2020, focusing on increasing voter turnout in Little Village and North Lawndale. 

Jocelyn holds a B.A. in Public Policy and B.S. in Disability Studies. In her free time, she volunteers at her local Safe Haven's food kitchen and community garden.
